Our second destination in Italy was Florence. It’s about and hour and a half train ride from Rome. We had quite a walk from the train station to our hotel with our backpacks. It was a nice walk since we were able to see things along the way. Here are some of the places we visited while in Florence.
This is the Basilica of Santa Croce where Michelangelo is buried.
You can see the statue of David created by Michelangelo in the Florence Academy of Fine Arts.
Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore
Here is the town hall of Florence, Palazzo Vecchio.
Inside the Palazzo Vecchio.
This is the Boboli Gardens which is the backyard of Pitti Place. It’s a pretty massive garden so enjoy taking your time wondering around here.
Ponte Vecchio bridge that is filled with merchants sits on top of the Arno River.
