Money Lei

I can’t believe my niece is graduating from junior high already and is on her way to high school. I can still remember my junior high days. Another one of my niece also finished elementary school and will be entering junior high next year. It’s scary to think how quickly time flies sometimes. To congratulate them, I made them each a money lei. Hope they don’t spend it all in one place.  There is one made with papers and money which are folded into accordion flowers. Another one I made is with ribbons with money attached to it.

This is all the accordion flowers before it was put together. Expected to spend a few hours folding them. It’s really not that bad when you’re watching tv.

Can you tell how much I like accordion paper flowers? I even have them hanging on my manzanita tree.

      1. Can yo give me instruction on how to make this with 300. And what kind of fabric to buy ( the material I mean)

  1. I love it, im trying to start one for my son’s graduation. What type of paper did you use for the colored flowers? Is it card stock, like for scrapbook?
    Thank you

    1. Hi. I don’t have instructions but they are fairly easy. For the one with the accordion flowers, you just make a bunch of them and string a rope into the middle of the flowers. Depending on how long you want, it will determine how many flowers you will have to make. For the one with the ribbon, I don’t have instructions since my cousin from Hawaii taught me and I don’t have a tutorial for it. I’m sure you can find one on Youtube. Sorry, I’m not so helpful.
